where to cut-in
Wall areas to cut-in include:
- Corners
- Just below the ceiling
- Around electrical switches and outlets
- Below crown molding
- Above baseboards
- Above and below chair rail
- Around door and window trim
- Around any other object that can not be rolled up to precisely or neatly
Ceiling areas to cut-in include:
- Around chandelier electrical wire cover plates on the ceiling
- Around the perimeter of the ceiling
- Around any hanging hooks
- Around electrical fixtures
- Around any other object that can not be rolled up to precisely, or neatly
Trim areas to cut-in include:
- Doors:
Around a door knob if you choose not to remove the door knob
- Up from the bottom of the door approximately two inches
- Down the left-side of the door approximately two inches (on the door side that the hinges are on the left side)
- Any part of the top of the door that would be difficult to roll (usually the top left corner above the hinges)
